The Warmia-Mazury Special Economic Zone

The Warmia-Mazury Special Economic Zone was established in 1997. The Warminsko-Mazurska SEZ comprises 412.52 ha of land prepared for investment projects, equipped with all the necessary utilities, located in: Bartoszyce, Dobre Miasto, Elblag, Lidzbark Warminski, Morag, Mragowo, Olsztyn, Ostroda, Paslek, Olecko and Szczytno.
The Zone is located close to the Poland's border and at the same time EU's Eastern border with the Kaliningrad District of the Russian Federation. There are three border checkpoints in Bezledy, Bartoszyce/Glomno and Skandawa (railway and road border). International Border Checkpoint in Bezledy is situated next to the Special Economic Zone sub-zone in Bartoszyce, area Bezledy. Air links with the rest of Poland and several European cities are provided by the International Airport in Szymany (located next to Special Economic Zone sub-zone in Szczytno, area Szymany and 9 km from area Korpele).

To date, 39 newly established companies have obtained permits to conduct activities in the W-M SEZ, 16 of which have already commenced manufacturing activities. The total value of planned investments is EUR 48.7 million, which will enable 1,700 people to find employment.
